Jakarta (Antara Bali) - State-owned oil and gas company Pertamina¿s Marketing Director, Ahmad Bambang, said the public consumption of a new fuel, Pertalite gasoline, has reached 2,000 kiloliters per day.
"The volume of Pertalite consumption has almost reached 2,000 kiloliters per day," Bambang said after signing a memorandum of understanding between Pertamina and PT Adaro Energy Tbk at Pertamina's headquarters on Friday.
He added that about 13 percent of Premium gasoline consumers had turned to purchasing Pertalite. "We have set a target to see 17.5 percent of Premium consumers purchasing Pertalite," he added.
Earlier, PT Pertamina Marketing Operation Region IV for the Yogyakarta and Central Java areas had conducted the first marketing test for use of the non-subsidized Pertalite gasoline at the Lempuyangan Fuel Refilling Station (SBPU) on August 14.
"We had a positive response from people during the first marketing test. Within four hours, SBPU was able to sell 800 liters," said Freddy Anwar, the Branch Manager PT Pertamina Marketing Operation Region IV for Yogyakarta and Central Java.
He explained that Pertalite is a non-subsidized fuel produced as an alternative for consumers of Premium gasoline. Pertalite has a RON of 90, which is higher than the octane level of Premium, which is RON 88.
Consumption of Pertalite gasoline now accounts for 13 percent of the consumption of RON 88 Premium gasoline. (WDY)
