Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesian - Malagasy dictionary, called Rakibolana, has been launched in Anosy, Madagascar to meet the 40-year diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Madagascar, a statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Antananarivo, Madagascar, received by Antara here Thursday.
Secretary General of the Madagascar Ministry of Culture and Crafts, Rabetokotany Eugene, said the language is one of the invaluable wealth of a nation.
The third edition of the dictionary was compiled by Valipanany Arline Rejo, a mother whose daughter is married to an Indonesian, and live in Bali, Indonesia, and Jorondraza, an teacher for Indonesian Language in Madagascar.
In addition, the dictionary was also prepared by Malagasy Academic Team led by Prof. academy Rajaona Andriamanjara with a research team led by Prof. Juliette Razimandrava.
Indonesian Chargé Permanent, Artanto S Wargadinata explained that the close relationship between the two countries on various aspects such as history, culture and origin has been lasted more than a thousand years.
This leads to difficult to distinguish between Malagasies and Indonesians, he said.
In addition, the similarity of the countries is a basis of cooperation called Indonesia Incorporated to Madagascar which is aimed to achieve the community welfare of both countries.
It is expected that the relations between the two countries is based on the values of the Eternal Brotherhood, or Firahalahiana Mandrakizay in Malagasy, Eternal Relations, or Fihavanana Mandrakizay, and Eternal Love and care, or Fatoram-pifankatiavana Mandrakizay. (WDY)
