Denpasar, Bali (Antara Bali)- The deportation of 39 Chinese and Taiwanese citizens arrested for Internet crimes by the police will be carried out in stages from Bali`s Ngurah Rai International Airport, stated Justice and Human Rights Minister Yasonna Laoly.
"They will be deported in cooperation with the Chinese police," Laoly noted here on Friday.
The Chinese police had coordinated with the Indonesian immigration office by sending the names of their suspects for arrest.
"It demonstrates our cooperation with China and other countries in countering cybercrimes. The Chinese police have sent their names, and our immigration officers immediately detected and arrested them with the cooperation of the police," he pointed out.
Head of the Denpasar Immigration Office Bambang Wisnu stated that his office would deport five of them on Friday evening, (April 10); 10 on Saturday, (April 11); and 24 more on Sunday, (April 12).
"During the deportation, they will be under the custody of the Chinese police," he emphasized.
The 39 suspects comprise four Chinese nationals and 35 Taiwanese.
In the meantime, a commissioner of the General Election Commission (KPU) recently revealed that attempts were made to hack into the KPU`s information technology system network during the vote recapitulation process of the presidential election last year.
"Once, there were attempts to `penetrate` our network by using a blocking system, with many of them, including from China," Hadar Nafis Gumay, the KPU commissioner, noted. (WDY)
