Bandung, West Java (Antara Bali) - The 12-year compulsory education program will be implemented starting next June, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani said.
"We are planning to implement the program beginning June 2015," the minister said after accomplishing her working visit here on Monday.
The implementation of the 12-year compulsory education program is in line with President Joko Widodo's Working Cabinet's educational outline plan.
Through the program, all parents are obliged to sent their children to school and the government has the obligation to provide all the cost and facilities needed during the educational program, the minister explained.
"The government wants that all children will go to school, at least be educated up to the higher secondary school level," Minister Puan added. (WDY)
