Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesian President Joko Widodo, on Friday morning, inaugurated the center for constitutional history at the fifth and sixth floors of the Jakarta-based Constitutional Court building.
Secretary General of the Constitutional Court Janedjri M. Gaffar stated that the center, spanning an area of 1,462 square meters, is the state's effort to help Indonesians gain a comprehensive understanding about the history of their country's constitution.
He emphasized that the center will provide an insight into the history of events that shaped the Indonesian constitution, from the pre-independence era to the present times when the Constitutional Court was established.
"The information is available through state-of-the-art audio-visual materials to make it more attractive and easily understood by the visitors," Janedjri revealed.
The center has eight zones: pre-independence, independence, 1945 Constitution, the United of Republic of Indonesia Constitution, Temporary Constitution in 1950, Back to 1945 Constitution, Amended Constitution, and Constitutional Court.
The construction of this center cost Rp24 billion, which was derived from the state budget, he added. (WDY)
