Denpasar (Antara-Bali)Tourism Minister Arief Yahya has said Indonesia is now ready to compete and win tourists in the face of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015.
"The Indonesian people are now ready to face AEC in 2015. One of its efforts to face the AEC is to establish a Markplus Center for Tourism and Hospitality Bali," the minster said here on Saturday. The Markplus is developed in Bali because it serves as Indonesia`s tourism gate.
"It is reasonable for the Markplus Center to be built in Bali because this tourist resort province always host various international activities," he said.
Minister Arief is convinced that the Markplus Center constituted an effort to create a forum for business development, particularly for the tourism industry and hospitality. It aimed at increasing the capability of human resources and deepening industry through a comprehensive research. Arief said that when the AEC is implemented in 2015, almost all industry maps will change.
"We have to be ready to face challenges in the globalization era because we need conviction and hard work," .(WDY)
