Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Global Environmental Facility-Small Grand Program (GEF-SGP) will hold the third environment lover communities festival, named Festival Terasmitra III, on October 14 to 16, 2014 in Kuta, Bali.
"Terasmitra is an event for the businesspersons who run their businesses by environmental approach," the Coordinator of Global Environmental Facility-Small Grand Program, Catharina Dwihastarini, said here Monday.
She added that the third festival will be participated by 45 communities, or about 300 environment lovers.
She hoped that the event will connect the business with the communities, and improve their concerns and cares about the environmental issues.
The social entrepreneurship has been done by several of communities by establishing business units to improve the social conditions such as poverty, environment damages, and others.
According to Catharina, the social entrepreneurship is the middle point between the social and the profit-oriented activities.
It is almost impossible for the business sectors to commit social agenda, while the social works cannot gain economy values.
"Gaining economy benefits from the nature without ruin it is one of the goals we would like to campaign," she said.
The festival will present the women from North Timor Tengah, East Nusa Tenggara who have preserved the weaving tradition that use natural coloring materials.
In addition, there will be also Biboki weavers from East Nusa Tenggara that make threads from cottons that they produce in their own farms, leaving the chemical coloring materials, and using the natural one.
"The Biboki weaver is made of organic materials, so it is environmentally friendly. The foreigners are interested with this weave," Catharina said. (WDY)
