Denpasar (Antara Bali) - Bali exported 119.4 tons of skipjack worth US$1.08 million in the first two months of the year.

The export volume shrank from 156.48 tons with value down 35.13 percent from US$1.66 million in the same period last year, chief spokesman of the Bali provincial administration I Ketut Teneng said here on Tuesday.

Ketut Teneng said skipjack is only one of 8 products of maritime and fishery from Bali, which is more known as a tourist island.

Bali's exports of maritime and fisheries commodities totaled US$19.39 million in the January-February period , down from US$20.08 million in the same period last year.

Other fishery products exported by Bali include live decorative fishes , tuna, crabs , the grouper and lobsters.

Ketut Teneng said Bali exports skipjack mainly to Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, the United States and Malaysia. (WDY)
