Astana (Antara Bali) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to meet Kazakh Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov on Tuesday for bilateral talks.

After the meeting with the prime minister, the Indonesian head of state will attend a business luncheon with Kazakh businessmen to promote business opportunities in both the countries.

Based on the data published by the Indonesian Trade Ministry, bilateral trade value between Indonesia and Kazakhstan in 2012 reached US$63.1 million, an increase by around 90 percent from US$33.1 million.

The trade balance increased by 16.8 percent over the last five years. Indonesia suffers a deficit of US$46 million in its trade with Kazakhstan, with main imports such as zinc, flat rolled iron, and cotton.

Indonesia's exports to Kazakhstan reached US$8.4 million and consisted of printing machinery, electronic goods, tobacco, palm oil, and automotive spare parts.

Meanwhile, data published by the Kazakh Central Bureau of Statistics showed that bilateral trade value was recorded at US$75 million, up 94 percent from US$38.7 million.

Kazakhstan enjoyed a surplus of US$530,000 from its exports to Indonesia at US$37.970 million and imports at US$37.440 million.

From Kazakhstan, President Yudhoyono and his entourage will proceed to Poland for a working visit and Russia for the G-20 Summit. (*/DWA)
