Sanur, (Antara Bali) - Antonius Dwi Aryanto, secretary of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP)'s sub-branch in Umbulharjo, Yogyakarta, died on Thursday on his way home from a party congress in the resort island of Bali.
Dwi Aryanto and colleagues returned home in a private car a day before the four-day congress which re-elected incumbent party chief Megawati Soekarnoputri wound up on Friday.
The 38-year-old PDI-P cadre reportedly had a cardiac arrest when he arrived in Ketapang, Banyuwangi district, East Java. He was later rushed to a nearby hospital.
"He was pronounced dead when he arrived at the hospital," Silverio RL Aji Sampurno, one of Dwi Haryanto's relatives, said in a short-message service text.(*)
