Kuta (Antara Bali) - The National Committee for Transportation Safety (KNKT) said it could not yet conclude the causes of the Lion Air plane crash near the runways of Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, on Saturday.
"The causes could not yet be concluded until now because we are still in the data collecting stage," KNKT Head for Air Transportation Accident Masruri told the press here on Sunday.
He said that the KNKT must be professional in collecting and analyzing data. "We will not be in a hurry in making a conclusion," he said.
The KNKT senior official said that the data collection was done comprehensively by looking into various indicators such as the human factor, operation, equipment and plane machine.
Director General for Air Transportation Herry Bakti said the investigation was still collecting data and was searching for the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) which was believed to be still at the plane's tail.
"To take the CVR at the plane's tail, we have to dive in the water, and will try to do that," he said. (IGT)
