Delft, the Netherlands (Antara Bali) - The Indonesian diaspora around the world is proposing a livable city project, a member of the Task Force Unit for Livable City Project in the Netherlands, Gemawang Swaribathoro, said here Tuesday.
"The cities in Indonesia are currently facing serious challenges like a lack of green spaces, the quantity and quality of public transportation means. This condition does not meet the people's needs as there is also no preventive measures for possible damages of natural resources," Gemawang Swaribathoro said.
He explained the livable city project involved a number of Indonesian experts in the field of heritage and conservation, water planning and landscape as well as social housing and urban renewal.
"This task force unit consists of 18 members and 39 collaborators from different fields," Gemawang who is working in the field of architecture in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, said.
Realizing that the livable city can be done by applying pro-nature development therefore it will not disturb the nature's balance, he said. (*/M038)
