Bengkulu (Antara Bali) - Two university students of the Stikes Tri Mandiri Sakti university, identified as Afrizal DO,21, and Sri Wahyuni,21, were killed after being swept away by Kemumu river deluge.
The students were swept away by deluge of Kemumu River water on Saturday, said Kemumu resident, Maryanto here on Sunday.
The two victims are actually part of 11 students who came into the river as one of tourist resorts in Bengkulu, Maryanto said.
According to him, Afrizal DO and Sri Wahyuni went missing after they failed to hold on to each other in the river deluge.
"We, rescuers sought Sri Wahyuni's body up to two kilometers downstream of Palak Siring tourist object, but she hasn't been found until last night," Maryanto said.
Meanwhile, the Bengkulu Utara office of Regional Disaster prevention Agency (BPBD) said that the two victims along with their friends previously conducted a survey to the Bengkulu Utara general hospital for apprentice program at the end of March 2013. (IGT)
