Bojonegoro, East Java (Antara Bali) - Flood that hit Bojonegoro district last Sunday (Feb 17) has forced 4,876 people to evacuate, Chairman of local Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Kasiyanto said here on Tuesday.

According to him the flood which was happened due to the overflow Bengawan Solo river has inundated areas in Bojonegoro district namely  Dander, Trucuk and Kalitidu.  
   
"Some of the evacuees have returned to their homes since yesterday night (Feb 18)," he said adding that the local people are asked to be aware of another flood as rainy season continues until March.

According to data from local Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) at least 59 villages in 11 sub-districts in Bojonegoro including Kalitidu, Trucuk, Kota, Dander, Balen and Baureno were flooded.

The flood water affected at least 1,461 houses, 29,800 meters of village roads and 1,725 hectares of paddy fields. (*/DWA)
