Pasuruan (Antara Bali) - At least eight houses have been destroyed by whirlwinds in Nguling areas, Pasuruan District, East Java, a natural disaster mitigation agency said on Monday.
Head of the local Natural Disaster Mitigation Agnecy (BPBD) Yudha Trwiwidya Sasongko said that the whirlwinds destroyed five houses in Sedarum village and two others in Wotgalih village.
He said that his side had conducted field checks to identify damaged houses in the affected areas.The incident claimed no casualties.
In the current rainy season, whirlwinds had hit a number of regions in Indonesia.
Whirlwinds slammed across the regency of Cilacap, Central Java, damaging 346 houses in 15 villages in the district on Thursday.(*/DWA/IGT)
