Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Foreign Affairs Ministry has said there were no Indonesian citizens among the victims of the Friday shootings at a primary school in Newton, Connecticut, US.
"So far, no Indonesian citizens have fallen victim in the incident that killed 27 people," Foreign Affairs Ministry's director of information and media PLE Priatna said here in press statement released on Saturday.
He mentioned that 27 people have died, including 20 children aged 5-10 years, in a horrifying shooting that occurred on Friday at 09:41 local time.
Priatna said that the Indonesian general consulate in New York has contacted Indonesian citizens living in the region near the location of the shootings.
"Fortunately, no Indonesian citizens have fallen victim there," he said.(IGT)
