Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Minister for State Enterprises Dahlan Iskan said state companies would continue work in their oil and gas projects despite the dissolution of the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulator (BP Migas).
The minister of energy and mineral resources has guaranteed that all oil and gas contracts are not affected with the dissolution of BP Migas, Dahlan said.
"The contracts remain valid despite the dissolution of the BP Migas," he said.
The Constitutional Court dissolved BP Migas last week saying the agency, which had signed all oil and gas contracts representing the government with contractors, was against the country's Constitution.
Earlier, Dahlan ordered state companies to make a bid to take over oil and gas contracts tendered by BP Migas with value Rp200 trillion a year.
The state companies ordered to take the contracts include engineering company PT Rekayasa Industri Persero, oil and gas company PT Pertamina Persero, construction companies PT Wijaya Karya Tbk, PT Waskita Karya Persero, and PT Adhi Karya Tbk and insurance company PT Asuransi Jasindo.(*/dwa)
