Garut (Antara Bali) - A dead adult whale washed ashore in Santolo beach, Garut District, West Java, on Wednesday morning.
"In the evening, some fishermen spotted the whale in the sea. And in the morning, the whale was beached on Santolo Island," said Lukman, a local fisherman.
The whale was estimated to measure 12-15 metres long and weigh about 5 tonnes.
During the day, several whales come ashore along the Garut coast.
"In this sea, there are many whales. Fishermen often see them at dawn, at around 3 am," Lukman stated.
