Jayapura (Antara Bali) - A team of doctors of the police hospital in Jayapura succeeded in operating murder suspect Daniel Kogoya, who was shot at and caught by police on Sunday night.
His right leg has to be amputated because of the bullet wound, Papua police spokesman Sr. Comr Johannes Nugroho told the news agency Antara.
Daniel, one of the most sought law fugitives in Papua, caught by police in a raid with friends Petrus Jikwa and Sony Kosay at a hotel in Jayapura.
He was charged with murder a local people and injured a number of others in this Papua capital in May.
Police shot him as he refused arrest and tried to escape, Johannes said. Petrus and Sony are now in police detention in Jayapura.(IGT)
