Jakarta (Antara Bali) - More than 1,300 motorcyclists and 2,687 passengers will be given a free trip aboard the KRI Banda Aceh warship to their home villages for the Lebaran festivity.
A Transportation Ministry's press release issued on Wednesday said the ship will transport 1,023 motorbikes and 1,981 passengers from Tanjung Priok port in Jakarta to Semarang's Tanjung Emas port in Central Java on Thursday, with a remaining 303 motorbikes and 706 passengers to follow on Saturday.
Transportation Minister EE Mangindaan will dispatch KRI Banda Aceh on Thursday afternoon from the Nusantara Pura passenger terminal at Tanjung Priok port.
Providing free transportation by KRI Banda Aceh for the motorcyclists was part of a cooperation between the Ministry of Transportation and the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL).(IGT)
