Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Vice President Boediono skipped the Jakarta gubernatorial elections on Wednesday and made a working visit to Tangerang, Banten Province, to inaugurate several development projects.
"The vice president has skipped the Jakarta elections because he holds the Yogyakarta ID card. He is carrying out his duties as usual," vice presidential spokesman Yopie Hidayat said here on Wednesday.
Yopie added that Boediono did not have the right to vote in the Jakarta gubernatorial elections, but staff members at his office who had the right to vote were permitted to do so.
On Wednesday, the vice president inaugurated a drinking water project at PT Aetra Air Minum Tangerang.
On the occasion, Boediono called on the central and regional government authorities, as well as private companies to make every effort to ensure that the community's clean water needs are met.(IGT/T007)
