Semarang (Antara Bali) - An Indonesia lawmaker from opposition party PDI Perjuangan questions the planned visit here of International Monetary Fund Executive Director Christine Lagarde.
The IMF leader is visiting Indonesia from July 8 to 10 is to ask for a loan aid of US$1 billion offered by the government, when the country is yet to deal with a host of domestic problems, Dewi Aryani said .
The government is offering "good thing" to IMF when the people are suffering from hunger, and has yet to cope with high unemployment , more workers losing jobs and rising prices, she said here on Sunday.
"The government should first think how to deal with domestic problems before thinking of doing something good for others," she said.
She demanded that the government explain openly the benefit it hopes from such offer.(*/M038/T007)
