Jakarta (Antara Bali) - It will take at least two weeks to identify the passengers of the crashed Sukhoi Superjet 100, because of a DNA test.

"The DNA test process might take at least two weeks¿ time," said Anton Castilani, Indonesian Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) Chief Police Commissioner, at Halim Perdanakusumah airport in Jakarta on Friday.

DVI will return the bodies to the victims families after conducting the DNA test that will compare the victims¿ DNA with their family members, he added.

According to Anton, DVI must conduct the DNA test to ensure that no mistakes are made while delivering the bodies.

The test will be done scientifically and as per international standards, by analysing every bit of the victim's body parts before delivering it to the right family, he said.(IGT)
