Pekanbaru (Antara Bali) - The perception that Indonesia is an oil-rich country is incorrect, deputy Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Widjajono Partowidagdo said here on Saturday.
"Indonesia, in reality, is not an oil-rich country," Widjajono said at a seminar during Riau Muslim University Expo 2012.
Speaking at the seminar, Widjajono noted that there were many incorrect perceptions about energy in Indonesia, including that Indonesia was rich in oil.
But, he added that Indonesia had more energy, such as coal, gas and coal bed methane, geothermal, and biofuel.
Widjajono said another common mistake was that investors would automatically come to Indonesia to invest without an improvement in the country's investment climate, and that fuel oil prices should be cheaper.(IGT)
