Bengkulu (Antara Bali) - The Bengkulu Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) said the waves in the Bengkulu and Enggano waters currently reached 4.5 meters high but may developed into five meters.
While the waves in the West Indian Ocean of Bengkulu in the next 12 hours may reach up to five meters high, BMKG analyst of the Fatmawati Soekarno Meterology station in Bengkulu Suparwi said Thursday.
He said the wind in the Bengkulu waters blows from the west to Southeast at a speed of 5-23 knots, and in Enggano from the west to north at a speed of 8-25 knots.
The wind in the West Indian Ocean in Bengkulu is blowing from the west to north at a speed of 12-28 knots, and light rain may be falling in the area.
According to an early warning from BMKG, he said, three meters high waves would still happen in West Sumatra and West Mentawai waters, and five meters high waves may hit Enggano to Lampung waters.
