Medan (Antara Bali) - Farmers in North Sumatra are now happy with the increase in maize prices to Rp2,200 per kg following farmers protest against the importation of the commodity that caused the drop in the price last February 20.
"Thanks God, the price has increased to Rp2,200 per kg from the previous Rp1,800-Rp2,000 per kg. It meets the farmers hope that prices would fall in the current harvest time," chairman of the Indonesian Maize Farmers Association Jemat Sebayang said here on Wednesday.(IGT)
