Nusa Dua (Antara Bali) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in his capacity as chief patron of the Democrat Party ordered the revocation of a party decision to give Angelina Sondakh a seat in the House of Representatives' commission dealing with legal affairs.
"On hearing information on Angelina's transfer to the House Commission III, our board of patrons chairman became very angry and ordered party chairman Anas Urbaningrum and House party faction chairman Jafar Hafsah to reverse the decision," Andi Malarangeng. secretary of the Democrat Party's board of patrons, said here Thursday.
Andi who is also Sports and Youth Affairs Minister made the statement on the sidelines of the 11th General Assembly ASEAN Law Association in Nusa Dua which was also attended by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
Angelina's transfer from the House Commission X to Commission III was an "ill-advised" move and therefore it had to be corrected immediately, Andi quoted Yudhoyono as saying.
Angelina should be put in a "more appropriate" position, Andi said. "She is currently facing a problem with the law so it is not appropriate to assign her to a seat in the House's Commission III that deals with legal affairs," he said.(IGT)
