Yogyakarta (Antara Bali) - The 6th Asian Film Festival themed Multitude held in Yogyakarta on 13 - 17 December will discuss the audience as an important part of the film in a public lecture program.
The matter was said by the director of Jogja-Netpac Asian Film Festival (JAFF) Budi Irawanto in a press release here Wednesday.
He said the public lecture program will address the audience by focusing on their activities about Indonesian films.
"JAFF realizes that without audiences the film will lose its vitality. The discussions to be held is derived from the concerns of the audience that often escapes from the attention of Indonesian cinema development," he said.
Budi noted there were various problems in placing or looking at the presence of the movie spectators.
According to him, an example problem is the film critics for often positioned the audiences as a part who have not good tastes to the film.
"In addition the producers in making films often claim that their films represent the tastes of the audiences, even though there was never any explanation of the audience about their representativeness," Budi said.(*)
