Mangupura (Antara Bali) - Some 15 thousand local and foreign tourists visit the famous Pura Uluwatu temple in Badung District, Bali, per day, according to Badung Tourism Office Chief I Made Badra.

"Every day, a total of 15,000 domestic and foreign tourists visit the Uluwatu temple in the south of Bali to enjoy the surrounding natural beauty," Badra remarked here on Saturday.

According to Badra, Uluwatu is an ideal place to enjoy the sunset, as it is popular not only for its unique location but also as one of the oldest temples in Bali.

The temple is located high on a cliff top, overlooking the Indian Ocean, at the edge of a plateau 250 feet above sea level.

Uluwatu is located in Pecatu Village in Badung District, or about 25 kilometers south of Denpasar City.

Badra said that 4.5 million foreign tourists had visited Badung District from January to September 2017.

"This figure shows an increase of 23.18 percent in foreign tourist visits to Badung as compared to the same period in the previous year," Badra noted.(WDY)
