Denpasar (Antara Bali) - The 9th Asia-Pacific Scout Leaders Summit is taking place in the Indonesian resort island of Bali from April 22 to 25.

Chairman of the Indonesian Scout Adhyaksa Dault during the opening of the Asia-Pacific Scout Leaders Summit said he was proud of and pleased with Bali hosting the four-day event.

"It is an honor and pride for the Indonesian scout movement to host the Asia-Pacific Scout Leaders Summit," he said.

He expressed the hope that scout movement will always be able to play an important role in the global scout.

"The scout movement is an international activity. I am only in Indonesia. So this is part of our education diplomacy to the rest of the world. Moreover, we have the largest number of scout members in the world," he said.

Dault, one-time youths and sports minister said the number of Indonesian scout members is expected to increase by one million to 22.7 million in 2023. (WDY)
