Manado, N Sulawesi (Antara Bali) - As many as 18 countries will participate in the 15th Annual International Conference on Islamic Studies (AICIS) that will take place here on September 3 to 5, an official has said.
Secretary of the provincial administration Siswa Rachmat Mokodongan said here on Tuesday that the participating countries will include among others Australia, the Netherlands, Morocco, Jordan, and Egypt.
The conference will carry the theme "Harmony in diversity and to promote mediation to prevent conflicts of religious and social life."
According to him, the activities during the conference will include establishing good relations between religious communities," he pointed out.
The meeting will be implemented at Sintesa Peninsula hotel and is expected to be opened by the Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin. (WDY)
