Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Economic Coordinating Minister, Darmin Nasution, said he plans to announce a number of economic policy changes within a month.
"So many rules have to be revised, and these revisions will be announced periodically. We cannot complete process for amending all policies at one time," Nasution said on Tuesday.
He explained that the sector, which needed improvement and had caused concern, was the national industrial sector.
"Lots of regulations have slowed down the sector, and it will be improved, especially the industrial sector," the minister said, adding that the food industry also needed to be regulated considerably.
"There are many food policies that should be regulated. The one food sector policy that needs to be overhauled is the one governing the sale of meat," Nasution said.
That might take a month, he added.
"We have some amendments ready, and there is a policy that needs another week to be completed. There is also a policy revision that needs one month, but we are trying to complete certain policy changes and announce them within this week," he noted.
The economic policy changes are still general in nature, and have not been described in detail. (WDY)
