Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Antara Bali) - The Indonesian Olympic contingent is set to leave Rio de Janeiro for Jakarta on Sunday night (Monday morning in Jakarta), coinciding with the closing ceremony of the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

The Indonesian contingent led by chef de mission Raja Sapta Oktohari is scheduled to arrive at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Jakarta by Qatar Airways flight on Tuesday evening.

The contingent mainly comprised athletes from badminton, track-and-field athletics and BMX cycling, while those from weightlifting, archery, rowing and swimming had returned home earlier.

As earlier reported, the Youth and Sports Ministry has prepared a ceremony to greet the Indonesian Olympic contingent which took home one gold medal, and two silver medals, putting the country in the 46th place in the medal tallies.

Mixed doubles Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir secured the gold medal, while lifters Sri Wahyuni and Eko Yuli Irawan grabbed the silver medals.

Indonesia's medal tally in Rio de Janeiro is better than it did in the 2012 Olympiad in London where it secured one silver medal and one bronze medal.

Indonesia sent 28 athletes, 14 coaches, five managers and 12 technical officials to the 2016 Olympics. (WDY)
