Bandung, W Java (Antara Bali) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) received an enthusiastic welcome and vociferous applause on arrival in Bandung, West Java, to open the Jamboree of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) from ASEAN Universities on Monday.
President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana arrived at the venue of the Jamboree at the Convention Hall of Telekom University here at 10 a.m. local time.
Some four thousand members of Hipmi across the country and representatives from five ASEAN countries greeted the head of state.
Before President Jokowi opened the Jamboree, West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan remarked that the event was in line with a variety of programs to create new entrepreneurs in Western Java.
"This Jamboree of Hipmi is in line with our efforts to churn out 100 thousand new entrepreneurs of which 60 thousand have already been created in cooperatives and small, medium, and micro enterprises," the governor noted. (WDY)
