Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The National Police (Polri) has said it will maintain security during this week's religious holidays of Prophet Muhammad's Isra Mi'raj and the ascension of Jesus Christ on Thursday and Friday.
Polri Chief General Badrodin, after attending the Isra Mi'raj celebration at the State Palaca here on Wednesday evening, said that his side had prepared measures to maintain security during long holidays from Thursday to Sunday.
He said police would focus security measures on public order and security and on smooth traffic flows on certain points.
"We have made relatively good preparations so that we are convinced there will not be too many traffic jams," he said.
Bekasi City Police Headquarters in West Java has meanwhile deployed 457 personnel to guarantee security during the holidays.
They are assigned in a number of toll road gates in Bakasi District and in a number of toll road rest areas between Jakarta and Cikampek. (WDY)
