Indonesia, The Netherlands to Sharpen Priorities In Bilateral Relations

Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesia and the Netherlands have agreed to sharpen priorities in their bilateral relations.

Indonesian foreign minister Retno LP Marsidu met with her Dutch counterpart Bert Koenders in Luxemburg on November 5 on the sidelines of the Asia-Europe Meeting discussing the issue, according to a press statement from the foreign ministry received here on Sunday.

Priorities discussed by the two ministers would be put in a cooperatioin document to be issued soon.

The Netherlands has given support to Indonesia with regard to its efforts to get a free visa facility for its citizens to visit "Schengen" countries.

The Netherelands will hold the presidency of the European Union early in 2016.

Regarding the invitation presented by minister Retno for the Dutch government's presence at the Bali Democracy Forum the Netherlands has pledged to send its representative in the event scheduled to be held in Bali on December 9-10.

Minister Retno has held around 13 bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the ASEM in Luxemburg including with her counterparts from the Netherlands, Luxemburg, Greece, Germany, Belgium and Ireland. (WDY)
