Vice President Leaves for Padang

Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Vice President Jusuf Kalla left for Padang on Sunday morning for a one-day working visit to the Adabiah Institution and the Grand Mosque in West Sumatra province.

The Vice President's entourage includes Mrs Mufidah Kalla, Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) Irman Gusman, Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, State Administrative and Bureaucratic Reforms Minister Yuddy Chrisnandi and former chief of National Development Planning Board (Bappenas) Andrinof Chaniago.

The presidential party took off at Jakarta's Halim Perdanakusuma airport at 7.3 a.m. Western Indonesian Standard Time (WIB).

Upon arriving in Padang, the Vice President is expected to attend the Nation's Struggle History Library function organized in conjunction with the centenary of the Adabiah Institution of Padang. He will also inaugurate the Syekh Dr Haji Abdullah Ahmad Monument.

In his capacity as the chairman of the Indonesian Mosque Council, the Vice President will also have a cordial meeting with the local people at West Sumatra's Grand Mosque.

Together with West Sumatra's Acting Governor Reydonnizar Moenek, Jusuf Kalla is also scheduled to visit cement producer PT Semen Padang where he will plant a tree.

The Vice President is scheduled to arrive back at Halim Perdanakusuma airport at 4.45 p.m WIB. (WDY)
