Bandung, W Java (Antara Bali) -- As many as 10,000 people visited the new tourist destination of Puncak Bintang, a hill with scenic beauty in Bandung city, Cimenyan district, West Java province, during the Eid holiday.
"More than 2,000 people visited the place every day. Since the first day of the Eid Fitri holiday, 10,000 people have visited so far," the security guard at the second post of Puncak Bintang hill, Ocep, said here on Tuesday.
Tourists are attracted to the destination, which was inaugurated a year ago, for the panorama its offers and the pleasant climate in the area.
Salim, a tourist who chose to spend his time off at Puncak Bintang with family, stated that his curiosity brought him to the hill, which has become a subject of discussion on social media platforms.
"The place is nice and not too difficult to reach, even though it is an uphill trip. It is not too far from Bandung city," he pointed out.
The journey from the city to Puncak Bintang takes about an hour by private vehicles.
Moreover, an observation of the place found that it was kept relatively clean and was not crowded, even though there were a considerable number of visitors. The most popular spot at the site was a silver star in the pine trees, which are some six meters high.
Covered with 12 hectares of pine forests, the hill is owned by state forestry company Perhutani and is managed jointly with the Institute of Forest Villages Community.
The ticket to enter the location costs Rp10,000 per person. However, it was raised to Rp12,000 per person on Eid.
In addition, the hill is often used as a camping spot. (WDY)
