Beijing (Antara Bali/RIA Novosti-0ANA) - Indonesia expressed willingness to expand the exports of fresh and preserved fruit, fish and seafood products onto the Russian market, the press service of Russia's Ministry of Economic Development reported Sunday.
"Indonesia considers expanding the exports of fresh and preserved fruit, fish and seafood products onto the Russian market," the ministry's statement said.
According to the statement, Russian Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev met with Indonesia's Minister of Trade Rahmat Gobel to discuss the Russia-Indonesia cooperation projects on transport infrastructure, monitoring systems, satellite broadcasting and food trade.
At the meeting, Alexei Ulyukayev noted that from 2009 the trade turnover between the countries tripled and reached $3 billion in 2013. The ministers agreed to expand bilateral trade to $5 billion within next two years.
Over the past few months, the European Union and the United States have imposed several rounds of sanctions on Russia over its alleged involvement in the Ukrainian crisis.
The sanctions are mostly targeting Russia's largest banks, energy and defense companies, as well as some individuals.
In August, Russia responded with introducing a one-year ban on certain food imports, including meat, fish, dairy, fruit and vegetables. (WDY)
