Denpasar (Antara Bali) - Vice presidential candidate, Hatta Rajasa has said he would respect whatever the ruling of the Constitutional Court (MK) in relation to the election result dispute.
"We will certainly respect the MK ruling, whatever it is. We will respect it as a final and binding constitutional ruling," Rajasa said here, Saturday.
Hatta Rajasa paired with presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto in the July 9, 2014, presidential election, but they lost and then filed a lawsuit against the General Election Commission (KPU) with the Constitutional Court.
However, as a good citizen of Indonesia he would abide by the ruling of the MK, whatever it is, Rajasa acknowledged.
He was also reluctant to comment on the legal process of the lawsuit against the election result at the Constitutional Court, the former economic minister noted.
He would congratulate his rivals, Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla later, Rajasa remarked.
"If the hearing of the lawsuit in the Constitutional Court is over on August 21, we will congratulate Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla on winning the election as president and vice president," Hatta said. (WDY)
