Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Trade Ministry increased the soybean importation allocation of the State Logistics Agency, Bulog, to 60,000 tonnes until the end of 2013.
Director General of Foreign Trade of Trade Ministry Bachrul Chairi on Tuesday said that Bulog was given additional 40,000 tons importation allocation to make it 60,000 tons.
"In total, the Government's importation allocation was 584,000 tons plus the additional 40,000 tons or at least 624,000 tons," Bachrul Chairi said.
The addition to Bulog's importation allocation was due to shipping efficiency, Bahrul said. Meanwhile, the Tofu and Tempeh Manufacturer Joint Cooperative (Gakoptindo) was given 20,000 tons importation allocation.
The buying price of soybean remains high, averaging Rp9,000 per kilogram. (*/M038)
