Senegal Students to Study in Indonesia

Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Four students from Senegal have received scholarships from Indonesian government to study in Indonesia, according to a press release from Indonesian Embassy in Dakar to Antara on Thursday.

"Congratulation on studying in Indonesia under the scholarships from the government," the Indonesian Ambassador to Senegal, Andradjati, said when receiving the students at the embassy on Wednesday.

The four students are Dibor Khadija Diouf, Tabara Diene, Serigne Mouhamadou Mansour Sy Ndiaye, and Fatou Bintou Diatta.

"I am happy to go to Indonesia and study there," Dibor Khadija Diouf said.

Dibor Khadija Diouf and Tabara Diene will study international business management at Yogyakarta Catholic University of Atmajaya in Yogyakarta, Serigne Mouhamadou Mansour Sy Ndiaye will take Islamic studies at Jakarta State Islamic University in Jakarta, while Fatou Bintou Diatta will take his master degree on Indonesian culture and literature at Airlangga University in Surabaya, East Java.

Diatta, hot got a scholarship from Indonesian government to study at Jakarta State University from 2012 to 2013, said he was happy to study again in Indonesia.

Besides the four students from Senegal, two others students respectively Makan Sacko of Mali and Alhaji Sekhu Sankoh of Sierra Leone will also study under the Indonesian scholarships in Indonesia.

Makan Sacko will study linguistics at Yogyakarta State University and Sekhu Sankoh will study information technology at Surabaya Institute of Technology in Surabaya, East Java.

"The granting of scholarships to is expected step up better relations with Senegal, particularly in the field of education," said the Indonesian ambassador to Senegal. (*/DWA)
