Jayapura (Antara Bali) - The United State Aid for International Development (USAID) has granted 36 Indonesians post graduate scholarship in that country.
US embassy charge d' affaires Kristen Bauer said the scholarship recipients were selected from 1,360 applicants from all over Indonesia based on their academic performances, professional experience and dedication to community development in Indonesia.
"They will study economy, law, public policy, political science, public administration, environment, health and education," Bauer said in a news release, a copy of which was made available to Antara news agency here on Thursday.
Bauer said they will return to Indonesia after winning the master degree or doctorate to contribute to the country's development and improvement of the public welfare.
The program was part of a commitment made by Presidents Barack Obama and Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in 2010 to expand bilateral cooperation. (*/DWA)
