Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Hatta Rajasa has expressed his hope that the feasibility study of Sunda Strait Bridge (SSB) project to start in 2014.
"We hope the feasibility study to start in 2014. The groundbreaking will depend on the completion of the feasibility study," the minister said here on Friday.
The development of Sunda Strait strategic zone and infrastructure in line with the Presidential Regulation no. 86/2011 was supposed to be discussed by a Team of Seven.
"The Team of Seven has not given its report nor recommendations to me," he added. The Team of Seven's recommendations are needed to create a legal certainty of the project, he explained.
The team, which was formed in 2012, consists of the public works minister, the finance minister, the industry minister, the head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), the justice and human rights minister, the minister/state secretary and the cabinet secretary.
The minister said the fund for the feasibility study process would not come from the State Budget (APBN) and the government would not prioritize the development of areas around the SSB project. (*/DWA)
