Banda Aceh (Antara Bali) - Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau, also known as the Reconstruction Credit Institute, is a German government-owned development bank, which is ready to support the construction of regional hospitals in a number of districts and cities in the Aceh province.
"We call for Germany's commitment in the construction of five regional hospitals in a number of districts and cities in Aceh," said the governor of Aceh, Zaini Abdullah, on Wednesday.
The five regional hospitals which will be built in Aceh are in the following districts: Aceh Tamiang, Bireuen, Takengon (Central Aceh) and Meulaboh (West Aceh).
Germany had helped to rebuild Zainoel Abidin General Hospital (RSUZA) in Banda Aceh, to provide aid to the victims of the 2004 tsunami.
The governor said that in the future, the administration will improve the quality of community health centres and integrated health service centres, to meet the public's healthcare needs.
"Improving the accessibility of healthcare services is important, especially in remote villages," Zaini Abdullah explained.(*/DWA/IGT)
