Bandarlampung (Antara Bali) - The number of returning Lebaran holiday travellers, who left the Bakauheni ferry port here for Merak port in Banten, has dropped in the past two days, according to PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry operator spokesman Heru Purwanto.
"A total of 23,636 passengers left Bakaheni port on the first and second day of Lebaran, on Monday and Tuesday. However, during the two days before the holiday, there were 27,497 passengers on Sunday and 22,594 on Saturday," he said here on Tuesday.
Heru noted that the 23,636 passengers were transported by 25 ferries, involving 46 trips. Among the ferry passengers were 1,524 pedestrians and 16,585 motorcyclists.
A day before, on Sunday, when 27,497 passengers crossed over to Merak port, there were 4,010 pedestrians and 23,487 motorbikers.
Earlier on Saturday, 2,205 pedestrian passengers and 20,389 motorcyclists left for Merak port.(IGT)
