Yogyakarta (Antara Bali) - Yogyakarta's Tourism and Culture Office is predicting that Malioboro district will remain the city's main destination for tourists during the post-fasting Lebaran holidays.
"An increase in the number of visitors to Malioboro is predicted to take place three days before and six days after the Lebaran D-Day," Head of the Yogyakarta Tourism Office Yulia Rustiyaningsih said here on Tuesday.
She said in previous years, the Malioboro area which was Yogyakarta's business and culture center, had always attracted tourists, particularly Idul Fitri travelers who wanted to celebrate Lebaran in Yogyakarta.
She hoped that at least 250,000 touristd would visit the area in September, or the same number as on the same occasion last year.
The average tourist number visiting the area in previous years was between 180,000 and 200,000 but this year it it was expected to reach 210,000, she said.(*/T007)
