Jakarta (Antaranews Bali) - President Joko Widodo will follow up the request
for cooperation for peace bulding in Afghanistan in his state visit to
that country next week, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said here on
Thursday.
"With regard to Afghanistan the context will be following up
Afghanistan`s request for Indonesia to help in the peace building," she
said when met over the issue at a State Palace ground.
The minister said there would be several meetings urged by Indonesia in the effort to build peace in Afghanistan.
Indonesia will give several kinds of assistance such as training,
exchange of clerics and education for women empowerment.
"Therefore Afghanistan`s first lady has come to talk about women
empowerment, peace, economic empowerment and others," Minister Retno
said.
The Indonesian government has also built a mosque at the Indonesia Islamic Center in Kabul named As-Salam.
President Joko Widodo will conduct state and official visits to
five countries in South Asia including Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan,
Bangladesh and Afghanista.
He is also scheduled to attend an ASEAN-India summit in New Delhi
that will discuss maritime sector as well as regional and international
