INAPGOC Intensifies Promotion Of 2018 Asian Para Games

Denpasar (Antaranews Bali) - Indonesia is gearing up for the implementation of the 2018 Asian Para Games (APG), which will be held in Jakarta, Oct 6-13, 2018, or one month after the 2018 Asian Games.

"We have prepared facilities and infrastructure for the quadrennial sport event for athletes with physical disabilities," Ashgindo Fahreza Nasution, spokesman of the 2018 Asian Para Games Organizing Committee (INAPGOC), said here, Saturday.

The promotion activities are being held in 20 locations in 16 cities across Indonesia, such as Medan, Palembang, Batam, Jakarta, Tangerang, Bekasi, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Solo, Surabaya, Bali, Makassar, Samarinda, and Ambon.

The Games will be participated in by some three thousand athletes with physical disabilities  and officials from 43 Asian member countries of the Asian Paralympic Committee.

The 2018 APG will incorporate 18 sports and 582 events during the eight-day Games.

The APG promotion activities are carried out with the cooperation of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC).

The slogan of APG is the Inspiring Spirit and Energy of Asia, and its missions are determination, courage, equality, and inspiration.

Its mascot is Momo (motivation and mobility) featuring an eagle.

In Southeast Asian region, Indonesia is the first country to host the Asian para Games.(WDY)
