According to Solo Mayor FX Hadi Rudyatmo, the food and student aid packages were provided by the president, not the Solo city government.
Before going to Solo, his hometown, President Joko Widodo visited Aceh Province from Wednesday to Friday.
During his stay in the country's westernmost province, President Widodo also distributed staple food packages to fishermen's families in Lhok Bubon Village, Sama Tiga Sub-district, Aceh Barat District.
Further, he distributed student aid packages to the fishermen's children. On Friday, President Widodo performed the Idul Fitri prayer, together with the people of Aceh.
In his visit to his hometown, 2,000 food packages were distributed to residents of Solo city and 1,000 packages to those living in Giriroto, Boyolali District, Central Java Province. (WDY)
